Empowering VI Mothers Through Education, Advocacy, and Support

Real Birth Knowledge exists to give mothers in the U.S. Virgin Islands the knowledge, confidence, and support they need for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. We believe every mother deserves to feel informed, respected, and empowered, and we work tirelessly to fill the gaps in education, resources, and advocacy that often leave women navigating birth alone.

Founder

Jayda Bryan, RN, LCCE, CLSP, mother of five, and maternal health advocate, is the founder of Real Birth Knowledge. A mother of five, including twins, Jayda combines her personal experience with professional training to provide evidence-based, culturally relevant support for families in the Virgin Islands.

From a young age, Jayda was passionate about birth and motherhood. This passion led her to change her college path from business to nursing and dedicate her life to improving the birth experiences of mothers in our community.

Having navigated multiple births both on-island and off, as well as two home births, Jayda knows firsthand the gaps in support, resources, and respect that mothers often face. Through Real Birth Knowledge, she is committed to helping women advocate for themselves, prepare for birth, and thrive postpartum.
