Doulas

A doula is a trained and certified professional who provides expert guidance for the service of others and who supports another person through a significant health-related experience, such as childbirth, miscarriage, induced abortion or stillbirth, as well as non-reproductive experiences such as dying.

 

Did you know?

As of September 2023, doulas are recognized and welcome as birth support on the Labor & Delivery floor of Schneider Regional Medical Center (SRMC). Prior to this, doulas were not allowed to attend births professionally with the birthing mothers.
